Fee Guide

Here at Smile Design we see it as our mission to help you keep your teeth healthy and beautiful for life. Our friendly team of dentists and dental nurses offer regular dental check-ups and dental hygiene.  We have some information below to let you know what you might expect in terms of costs.

           NHS Dentistry

If you are an NHS patient, check-ups are free.  Treatment is also free on the NHS for pregnant and nursing mothers until the baby is 12 months old; for anyone under 26 years old, and for those with certificated exemptions. For more information please go to:   www.scottishdental.nhs.scot

If you require any treatment but do not fall into any of those categories, as an NHS patient you will pay 80% of the cost up to a maximum which is set at £384 per course of treatment.

The NHS is available to secure oral health;  It does not fund cosmetic treatment options such as teeth whitening, veneers, and Invisalign.  Your dentist will discuss what options you have available when creating your bespoke treatment plan and let you know about what costs to expect.

              Private Fees

Our Private Pay As You Go fees are set to provide our patients with the very best quality materials and technology.  This allows us to provide beautiful restorations using the latest materials.

If you prefer to Pay As You Go then you will pay for your care as you receive it.  A fee list is available from reception and an estimate will always be provided so you know how much you may need to pay.

Example Fees

New Patient Exam – £40

Composite Filling – From £70

Teeth whitening – £300

Scale and Polish – from £30

Dental Crown – from £450

        Membership Plans

Our Membership Plans offer the same benefits as Private Pay as You Go but allow you to spread the cost over manageable monthly instalments.   They also have the added bonus of 10% discount off of pay as you go fees and a host of other benefits including family discounts if more than one plan is taken out on the same Direct Debit.

  • We offer a Full Care Monthly Payment Plan that allows you to pay a fixed sum every month to cover all your future treatments, excluding laboratory fees, so there’s nothing to pay on the day.
  • We also offer a Maintenance Plan for those who wish to spread the course of routine maintenance and hygiene over 12 months and to also benefit from discounts off of private fees.  Prices start from £15 per month.
  • Both of our plans have access to DEAS emergency support scheme.

So don’t put off visiting the dentist because you don’t think you can afford it – your teeth won’t thank you for that.  There’s always something we can do to make sure you can get the treatment you need.
